1A6 7 <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />t <br />- <br />October 4, 1982 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held in the Selectmen's <br />Meeting Room, Town office Building, on Monday, October 4, 1982 at 7:30 P.M. <br />Chairman Busa, Mrs. Battin, Mr. Politi, Mr. Sacco; Mr. Hutchinson, Town Mana- <br />ger and Miss Casey, Executive Clerk were present. <br />The Chairman convened the meeting with Vice- President William Hen- Adams- <br />chy, John Castro, Director of Construction and Development, and.Stephen Russell <br />Pollack, Manager of the Lexington operations, of Adams-Russell.-Cable- CATV <br />vision Co, The meeting was called as a result of citizen complaints re- <br />garding the installation and service of the company. It was also brought <br />out by one customer that salesmen had no identification as such. <br />As a result of the meeting with the Board and dissatisfied customers, <br />the company has agreed to refund deposits should a customer decide to <br />cancel. This will be accomplished-either by writing or going to the of- <br />fice with such a request. <br />Mr. Henchy thanked the Board for the opportunity to hear the com- <br />plaints and pointed out that the office staff is making an intensive ef- <br />fort to eliminate missed appointments and improper connections but will <br />tighten - up procedures in -the office. .--.He pointed out that the complexity <br />of the connections in a number of homes in Lexington was not anticipated <br />and the installations were - taking longer than is the norm in other commu -. <br />pities. The salesmen will have proper identification and the Police De- <br />partment will be notified of.the names of all salesmen. The salesmen will <br />also explain the options fully and will leave literature indicating rates <br />should the prospective customer wish to have time to consider before sub- <br />scribing. Mr. Pollack informed the Board,-that he had supplied the -news- <br />paper with a.eomplete list of every available and the'correspond- <br />ing prices. Full credit will be given to customers who had only wanted <br />the basic service but had subscribed for other options. <br />Mr. Henchy stated that 2500 rate cards showing the basic rate, the <br />a la cartes, and the packages will be mailed out advising the customers <br />to determine what they want and if they feel that they have been oversold, <br />they should-.contact the Adams - Russell office for a refund, <br />The Board thanked the Adams - Russell representatives for appearing <br />and cooperating so fully and they retired from the meeting. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the re- Hennessey <br />quest of the Lexington Pony Patriots 4--H Club for the use of Hennessey Field <br />Field on Sunday, October 17, 1982, subject to coordination with Paul <br />Mazerall, Superintendent of Parks Department and George Health <br />Director. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to table the re-- one Day <br />quest of the. Bridge School Association for a one Day Liquor License pend- Liq. Lic. <br />ing further information relative to Las Vegas night license. <br />
