A.. <br />'a " ' 1 <br />.. <br />} <br />f <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />March 1, 1982 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of selectmen was held in the Selectmen's <br />Meeting Room; Town Office Building on Monday, March 1, 1982 at 7:30 P.M. <br />Chairman Busa, Mrs. Battin, Mrs, Miley, Mr. Crain and Mr. Politi; Mar. Hutch- <br />inson, Town Manager; Mr. Cohen, Town Counsel; Miss Adler, Assistant to the <br />Town Manager and Miss Casey, Executive Clerk were present. <br />Mr, Heal Cronin presented Mrs. Miley a gavel be had made from Elm <br />tree limbs of trees from the Green. He stated that it was presented to <br />her from her colleagues on the Board and citizens of the Town in apprecia- <br />tion of her six gears on the Board of Selectmen. <br />The Chairman presented her with an engraved pewter bowl and expressed <br />appreciation of the Town for her services and a "Job well done". <br />Mrs. Kiley thanked Mr. Cronin and the Chairman for their gifts and <br />Mr. Cronin retired from the meeting. <br />Mrs. Margaret Brooke, of the Garrity house Committee, met with the <br />Board to update them on the result of the neighborhood meeting relative <br />" to the Garrity Howse proposal by Mr. Robert Lind. <br />r . <br />Mrs. Brooke reported that there had been no opposition from the <br />neighbors and recommended that the Board approve Mr. Find's proposal. <br />Mir. Jaquith, of the Historic Districts Commission, asked the Chair- <br />man if he foresaw any problems with the provision in the article for Town <br />Meeting relative to the Selectmen being authorized to delegate adminis- <br />trative supervision and preservation restrictions during the period of <br />restoration. <br />The Manager and the Chairman stated that they felt that they did <br />not anticipate any problems. <br />The Chairman informed Mr. Lind that the Board would support the <br />article on Town Meeting floor. Mrs. Brooke and Mr. Lind retired from <br />the meeting, <br />The Board met with the Bike Path Committee and citizens to again <br />discuss the paws and cons of the proposed Minuteman Commuter Bikeway. The <br />Chairman reminded those in attendance that the Board had listened at the <br />last meeting to those in attendance and requested that comments be limi- <br />ted to new information or from those who were not at the meeting last <br />week. He stated that all of the Board members had received numerous calls <br />over the week -end and also had received a great deal of mil during the <br />week, both pro and eon. <br />Mr. Robert Cataldo of the Appropriation Committee informed the Board <br />that the Committee requested the Board to defer its Grote pending further <br />discussion with the Committee relative to the Town's flnanciall commitment <br />to the proposal. <br />Mr. Cataldo, speaking as an individual citl en, pointed out to the <br />Mrs. Miley <br />Gift <br />Garrity <br />House <br />Bike Path <br />
