SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />November 22, 1993 <br />IA regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on <br />Monday, November 22, 1993, in the selectmen's Meeting Room, Town <br />Office Building, at 7:30 p.m. Chairman Dailey, Mr. McSweeney, Mr. <br />Busa, Mr. Fenn, Mrs. Eddison; Mr. Cohen, Town Counsel, Mr. White, <br />Town Manager; Mrs, Novak, Assistant Town Manager; and Mrs. Burke, <br />Acting Executive Clerk, were present. <br />PUBLIC HEARING NEW ENGLAND TELEPHONE <br />Mr. Dailey recognized Martin Doherty representing New <br />England Telephone, who presented and explained the petition to lay <br />conduit on westview Street, Maguire Road and Hartwell Avenue and <br />then into Lincoln Laboratory. Mr. Doherty explained that the fibre <br />optic cable is actually owned by Digital Equipment in a joint <br />venture with Lincoln Lab. Mr. Dailey recognized Fred Vote from MIT <br />Lincoln Lab. who explained the necessity of installation of the <br />fibre optic cable for an experimentation project of maybe 5 -- 8 <br />years induration. Mr. Vote added that there would be no negative <br />affect on telephone or cable lines, etc. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve a <br />petition by New England Telephone to lay conduit on westview <br />Street, Maguire Road and Hartwell Avenue and then into Lincoln <br />Laboratory. <br />RENEWAL OF LIQUOR LICENSES <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted 4_0 (Mr. Busa <br />did not vote) to approve the applications for the following Liquor <br />License renewals <br />Restaurants.
