� YP <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />May 4 1992 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on <br />Monday, May 4, 1992, in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, Town Office <br />Building, at 7:10 p.m. Chairman Smith, Mr. Marshall, Mr. Eddi- <br />son Mr. Dailey, Mr. McSweeney; Mr Cohen, Town Counsel; Mr. <br />White, Town Manager; Ms. Radway, Assistant Town Manager; and Mrs. <br />Peters, Executive Clerk, were present. <br />MINUTES <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve <br />the minutes for the meetings of March 3 and 23 1992, as written, <br />and the minutes for the meeting of March 9, 1992, as amended. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />ANNUAL POPPY DRIVE <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded it was voted to permit <br />the Lexington Post veterans of Foreign wars to conduct its annual <br />"Poppy Drive" on the following dates: Thursday, Friday and <br />Saturday, May 14, 15, and 16, 1992. <br />Oft& SENAT BILL NO. 921 <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to adopt <br />and support a Resolution voted unanimously by the Arlington Board <br />of Selectmen supporting Senate Bill No. 921, filed by State <br />Senator Robert Havern, which if passed, would require the State <br />to fund 50% of the cost to clean up Boston Harbor and would <br />expand the costs of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority <br />(MWRA) state -wide rather than to the present £0 cities and towns. <br />APPRECIATION <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to endorse <br />a proclamation entitled "An Appreciation for Frederick and Angela <br />Frick" which "commends, congratulates and extends the affection <br />and appreciation of their fellow Lexingtonians" to Mr. and Mrs. <br />Frick for their many years of service in Town government. <br />CONTRACT AWARD - NORTH LEXIN MAIN PUMPING STATION <br />Mr. white reported that 13 sealed bids were opened on April <br />22, 1992, for construction of the North Lexington Main Pumping <br />Station. He recommended that the Board vote to award a contract <br />in the amount of $1,965,800 to D.E.R. of Lexington, MA. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to award <br />the contract in the amount of $1, for construction of the <br />North Lexington Main Pumping Station to D.E.R. of Lexington, MA. <br />CONTRACT AWARD - NORTH LEXINGTON_ FORCE MAIN REPLACEMENT <br />Mr. White reported that 18 sealed bids were opened on April <br />9, 1992, for the North Lexington Force Main replacement project. <br />He recommended that the Board vote to award a contract to the <br />lowest qualified bidder, FED Corporation of Dedham, MA, in the <br />low bid amount of $584,404.10. <br />
