f <br />�va <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />May 1, 1989 1r <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Monday, <br />May 1, 1,989, in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, Town Office gu i l di ng at <br />, :3O p.m. Chaff rman Smith, Mr. Marshal l , Mr. Fddi son, Mr. Dai 1 ey, Mr. <br />McSwPerev ; Mr. White,, Town Manager; Mr. Cohen, Town Ccunsel ; Ms. Radway <br />Assistant to the Town Manager ; Snow, Executive Clerk, were present. <br />T.S.A.0 . REPORTS, TRAFF TTEMS <br />Peter Chal pi n, Chairman of the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee, <br />was present for review of his Committee's re commendati ons on various <br />traffic items referred by the Selectmen, <br />MOON HILL ROAD, DR. CLAR.KF <br />Mr. Chalpin recapped the report of the T.S.A.C, on the request of <br />Eric Clarke, Six Noon Hill, T nc . for installation of warning and <br />motorist, alert signs on Moon Hill Road, at Moreland Avenue. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the <br />recommendations of the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee that a "STOP" <br />s i gna and a "NOT A THROUGH WAY" sign on Moon Hill Road at Moreland <br />Avenue, <br />HILL STREET, MRS. BERTUCCI <br />The report of the T . S . A . C . on the request of Claire <br />installation of signage and improvements to visibility on <br />was reviewed. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to <br />recommendations of the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee <br />installation of signs on Hill Street as follows: <br />Two new "CURVE" signs, one at house #64 and one just <br />#58 <br />, <br />trees within the Town's right-of-way in th P area, <br />Bertucci for <br />Hill Street, <br />approve the <br />on the <br />below house <br />Three new "PLIND DRIVEWAYS" s i cans , one at #58, one just below #58 <br />and one at #54. <br />In addition the D.P.W. will be asked to trim roadside shrubs and <br />COMCORD AVENUE, S, LEXINGTOM CIVIC ASSOCIATION <br />Mr. Cha pin reported on his Committee's meeting with <br />representatives of the South Lexington Civic Association to discuss <br />Concord avenue traffic issues relative to safety and poli enforcement. <br />The Committee had submitted a 3/22/89 agenda of items in six <br />categories, upon which the following recommendations were made, Upon motion <br />du ly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the recommendations <br />Relative to Item 1-8, the Committee recommended that the Mass. <br />D.P.W. be requested to perform radar studies to determine today's 85th <br />percentile speed on Concord Avenue. Pursuant to that determination, the <br />Town will decide what course to take regarding the Association's request <br />for lowered speed limit. <br />Item 1-C: two missing signs be re -pl aced: "LEFT TURN ONLY" and <br />"YIELD" off Route 2. and two "School" s i gns l l be :installed at the Cotti ng Schoe <br />Regarding Item 11-B, the Association's request for Radar Camera <br />Installation, the Committee made no recommendation, because of <br />procedural matters and a pending law suit. <br />
