COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE <br />Board of Selectmen Meeting Room <br />Thursday, June 5, 2008 <br />4:00 p.m. <br />Present: CPC Chair, Betsey Weiss, Joel Adler, Norman Cohen, Marilyn Fenollosa, <br />Wendy Manz, Leo McSweeney, Judy Pearson and Sandy Shaw. Also Present: David <br />Kanter, Capital Expenditures Committee; Joyce Miller, Conservation Commission; Rob <br />Addelson, Assistant Town Manager for Finance; Laurie Dell'Olio, Town Accountant; <br />Patrick Goddard, Director of Public Facilities; Donna Hooper, Town Clerk; Arnold <br />Lovering, Treasurer /Collector; Elaine Melahouris, Appraiser /Inspector; Karen Mullins, <br />Conservation Administrator; Karen Simmons, Director or Recreation; Carl Valente, <br />Town Manager and Linda Vine, Deputy Town Manager. <br />Absent: Dick Wolk. <br />The purpose of the meeting was for Stuart Saginor, Executive Director of the Community <br />Preservation Coalition to conduct a CPA Training Workshop for the Town of Lexington. <br />This session was designed not only for members of the CPC but for town employees and <br />parties interested in and associated with CPA legislation. <br />The meeting began at 4:10 p.m. Stuart Saginor shared a PowerPoint presentation that <br />touched upon the following topics: <br />• CPA finances and fund management <br />• Statewide trends in CPA adoption and CPA projects <br />• Projections for the level of trust fund matching dollars in the future <br />• Overview of CPA lawsuits in communities <br />• Discussion of the controversy over CPA recreation projects <br />• Major legislative changes being proposed to the CPA law <br />The meeting concluded at approximately 6:15 p.m. Stuart gave a copy of his PowerPoint <br />presentation on CD to CPC Chair, Betsey Weiss.
