<br />Community Preservation Committee <br />Legion Room <br />Wednesday, October 29, 2008 <br />4:00 pm <br />Present: <br />Betsey Weiss, Chair; Marilyn Fenollosa, Vice Chair; Joel Adler, Norm Cohen, <br />Jeanne Krieger, Wendy Manz, Leo McSweeney, Nathalie Rice, (Admin. Asst.); Sandy <br />Shaw, Dick Wolk. David Kanter, CEC Liaison was also present. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 4:05 pm <br /> <br />Nathalie Rice was introduced and welcomed as the Committee’s new Administrative <br />Assistant. <br /> <br />The purpose of the meting was to review the two projects for the upcoming Fall Town <br />Meeting, and to review the FY2010 Capital Projects. The Needs Assessment update was <br />also on the agenda. <br /> <br />Patrick Goddard, Director of Public Facilities and Project Manager, Mark Barrett were in <br />attendance to update the Committee on FY 2008 projects, to discuss the Old Harrington <br />Playground proposal and to discuss projects for FY 2010. Discussion commenced on FY <br />2008 project updates. <br /> <br /> <br />1.FY 2008 Updates <br /> <br />a. <br />Harrington Pre-School Playground. Purchase orders are in place, and the <br />project should be out to bid soon. Fall construction is expected. <br /> <br /> <br />b. . <br />School Administration BuildingBid documents should be out soon, with <br />an anticipated start of work in January. <br /> <br /> <br />c. <br />Town Office Building Envelope. Getting ready to go to bid at the end of <br />November. <br /> <br /> <br />d. <br />East Lexington Fire Station. Specs for the bidding on the storm windows <br />and ac renovations are in progress. <br /> <br /> <br />e. <br />Town Hall ADA Accessible Bathroom and Signs. Proposals are being <br />obtained for bathroom design. BH&A has been selected as the architect, <br />programming is in process. <br /> <br /> <br />f. <br />Monroe Fire Prevention System. Bidding will be completed in October <br />with a December start date. <br /> <br />2. The Old Harrington Playground. <br /> <br />Pat reviewed the project to date, and discussion turned to questions about <br />specific costs.
