(Adjourned Session of the 1980 Annual Town Meeting - March 19, 1980.) <br /> 536 <br /> Article 22. Prank Sandy moved to amend the motion by deleting the figure of <br /> (Cont.) $9,100.00 and substituting therefor the figure of $13,300.00. <br /> 9 P.M. <br /> Nyles Nathan Barnert, Chairman of the Capital Expenditures <br /> Committee, stated that his committee supported this amendment. <br /> 9:05 P.M. <br /> Motion to amend, as offered by Mr. Sandy, declared carried by voice <br /> vote. 9:07 P.M. <br /> Main motion, as amended, now reads: <br /> (As MOTION: That the Selectmen be and they hereby are authorized to <br /> adopted) construct concrete, bituminous concrete or other sidewalks, at such <br /> locations as they shall determine, where the abutting owner pays <br /> one -half of the cost or otherwise, and to take by eminent domain, <br /> purchase or otherwise acquire any fee, easement or other interest <br /> in land and to appropriate the sum of $13,300.00 for such con - <br /> struction and land acquisition, and that such amount be raised in. <br /> the tax levy. <br /> Main motion, as amended, declared carried unanimously. 9:08 P.M. <br /> Article 23. Presented by Alfred S. Busa. <br /> MOTION: That the Selectmen be and they hereby are authorized to <br /> install street lights in such unaccepted streets as they may <br /> determine prior to the final adjournment of the 1981 Annual Town <br /> Meeting. <br /> Carried Unanimously 9:08 P.M. <br /> Arthur C. Smith served notice of reconsideration of Article 22. 9:10 P.M. <br /> Article 24. Presented by Alfred S. Busa. <br /> MOTION: That the sum of $147,600.00 be appropriated for the pur- <br /> chase by or with the approval of the Selectmen of equipment for the <br /> Department of Public Works, and that such amount be raised in the <br /> tax levy. <br /> 9:10 P.M. <br /> William A. Ridgley moved to amend the motion by striking the sum of <br /> $147,600.00 and substituting therefor the sum of $139,800.00. <br /> 9:13 P.M. <br /> Amendment as offered by Mr. Ridgley declared carried by voice vote. <br /> 9:18 P.M. <br /> Main motion, as amended, now reads: <br /> (As MOTION: That the sum of $139,800.00 be appropriated for the pur- <br /> adopted) chase by or with the approval of the Selectmen of equipment for <br /> the Department of Public Works, and that such amount be raised in <br /> the tax levy. <br /> Main motion, as amended, declared carried unanimously. 9:18 P.M. <br />
