<br />Selectmen Meeting Minutes <br />June 2, 1997 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Monday, June 2, 1997 in the <br />Selectmen’s Meeting Room, Town Office Building at 7:30 p.m. Chairman McSweeney, Mr. <br />Fenn, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Eddison, Mr. Enrich; Mr. White, Town Manager; and Ms. Smith, Executive <br />Clerk, were present. <br /> <br />Public Comments <br /> <br />Caleb Warner, Chairman of the South Lexington Civic Association indicated he has been in <br />contact with the Waltham City Council concerning the disposition of land at the site of the former <br />Middlesex County Hospital. Mr. Warner feels it is critically important for representatives of <br />Lexington and Waltham to meet with the County Commissioners on this matter as soon as <br />possible. <br /> <br />Mr. McSweeney responded that he had just today received a letter from Counsel for the County <br />Commissioners seeking input from the Town of Lexington. Mr. McSweeney will be setting up a <br />meeting of the Middlsex County Hospital Ad-Hoc Committee in the very near future. <br /> <br />Personnel Advisory Board Member Bill Barnes <br /> <br />Mr. White spoke of the tremendous services of Bill Barnes in conducting Sexual Harrassment <br />Training for Town Administrators and Supervisors. Board Members thanked Mr. Barnes for his <br />continued contributions by volunteering his time and expertise to the benefit of the Town. <br /> <br />License for the Above Ground Storage of Flammables/Maguire Properties, LLC, 4 Maguire Road <br /> <br />Mr. McSweeney opened the hearing on the application of Maguire Properties, LLC, 4 Maguire <br />Road for permission and license for the aboveground storage of 1200 gallons of flammable <br />chemicals. <br /> <br />Jeff Hoseth, Architect from Shaw Associates, Inc. and Tom Bromander, Associate Director of <br />Manufacturing at Focal Therapeutics, Inc., tenant and user of the flammable chemicals reviewed <br />the specifications of a 258 square foot room designed to meet code requirements of the Mass. <br />State Building Code, Special Use and Occupancy Section 603.0 HPM (Hazardous Production <br />Materials Use Facilities); and the National Fire Protection Association. <br /> <br />Questions from Board Members concerning safety issues and the amount of flammables being <br />stored now versus after construction of the new storage room were addressed. Fire Chief John <br />Quinlan indicated that all plans were reviewed with Fire Chief Sullivan and Lt. Peter Torode to <br />the satisfaction of the Fire Department. <br /> <br /> <br />
