<br />PLANNING BOARD MINUTES <br />MEETING OF MARCH 28, 2005 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Lexington Planning Board held in Room G-1, Town Office Building, was called <br />to order at 6:40 p.m. by Acting Chairman Harden with members Manz and Canale and planning staff <br />McCall-Taylor, Tapper and Tap present. Mr. Galaitsis arrived at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />************************ ARTICLES FOR 2005 TOWN MEETING ************************ <br />Article 4, Rezone Battle Green Inn Property, CB to CD: Mr. Harden reviewed his presentation to Town <br />Meeting of the Planning Board majority's positive recommendation on Article 4, property owner Eric <br />Shapiro's rezoning proposal for the Battle Green Inn property. <br /> <br />Article 5, Center Parking Amendments: The Board discussed what Mrs. Manz might say about future <br />Board activity relative to Lexington Center when she moves indefinite postponement on Article 5, Center <br />Parking. It was agreed to communicate the Board's commitment to working to address Center issues in <br />the coming year, in collaboration with the Center Committee and the Center Collaborative especially. <br /> <br />Mr. Galaitsis joined the meeting. <br /> <br />Planning Board Report on Inclusionary Housing: Mr. Harden asked for input on his report to apprise <br />Town Meeting of the Planning Board's ongoing affordable housing initiative. The Board wants Town <br />Meeting to know that it is endeavoring to develop an inclusionary housing policy and will actively seek <br />public discussion on this subject. <br /> <br />Ms. McCall-Taylor indicated that when the Board reorganizes at the end of June, it should probably <br />review the plethora of Planning Board policies and guidelines that have been developed in recent decades <br />by earlier Boards. Some may have been superseded by more recent documents. Others may not presently <br />be desirable or practical. The Board can decide which are still relevant. <br /> <br />Articles 20 and 21, Middlesex County Hospital Land Disposition: Mr. Canale indicated that when Article <br />20, Acquisition of Former Middlesex County Hospital Land and Article 21, Former Middlesex County <br />Hospital Open Space come up at Town Meeting he will state the Planning Board's support of these <br />articles. Following those remarks, he will speak on the subjects as the town's MAPC representative. <br /> <br />On a motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to adjourn the meeting at 7:10 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Wendy Manz <br />
