Town Celebrations Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> March 31, 2021 <br /> Virtual Meeting <br /> Members Present <br /> June Baer, Chair; Glen Bassett, Suzanne Caton, Linda Dixon, Mary Hutton, Cerise Jalelian, <br /> Gresh Lattimore, Sondra Lucente, Lorain Marquis, Julie Miller, Bill Mix, Geetha Padaki, Sandy <br /> Podgorski, Sue Stering, Wei Ding <br /> Members Not Present <br /> Steve Cole, Samita Mandelia, Wayne Miller, Rita Pandey, Ashley Rooney, Sam Zales, <br /> Business: <br /> • June convened the meeting at 7:07 pm and read the Town notice regarding the conduct of <br /> public virtual meetings. <br /> • The committee approved the minutes of March 24, 2021. <br /> Patriots Day, April 19, 2021 <br /> Door Decorating Program <br /> • The committee is encouraging businesses to participate. An email containing the flyer <br /> about the program has been sent to them. <br /> • 29 residents and 6 businesses registered so far. Doors should be finalized by April 5. <br /> Judging will take place between April 7 and 14. <br /> • Sandwich boards have been refreshed with information about the door decorating <br /> program. <br /> • Judging guidelines have been developed. <br /> • Linda Dixon asked if all precincts are represented but as of 3/31 it appeared that only <br /> precincts 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 have registered entrants. <br /> Library Programs <br /> • All 3 programs are listed on the Cary Library web site so people can start signing up to <br /> attend. <br /> • Linda noted that at the John Rees presentation, June will have 1 to 2 minutes at the <br /> beginning to welcome attendees on behalf of the TCC. <br /> Miles and Smiles Program <br /> • Wei Ding reported that 35 submissions have been received for the program. She noted <br /> that people who upload their photos to the site can then share their photos on Facebook. <br /> • Wei noted that she has asked the students who helped develop the web site to encourage <br /> their friends to submit photos to the program. <br /> • The committee briefly discussed the awards to be given to winners of the program but <br /> further discussion was tabled until later. <br /> Patriots Day Parade <br /> • Lorain Marquis noted that everything that Lex Media needs to pull together the virtual <br /> parade has been handed off to them. <br />
