Commission on Disability <br /> Minutes from March 12, 2020 <br /> Members: Victoria Buckley, chair, Shaun Grady,Julie Miller, Leonard Morse-Fortier,Janet Perry <br /> Minutes January and February <br /> Minutes for January were accepted. February minutes were revised to say Munroe <br /> Center for the Arts instead of the Center. The revised version was accepted. <br /> Update on Parker Meadow <br /> There was a public meeting held on February 24 during the meeting of the Conservation <br /> Commission. Victoria and Michael represented the Commission on Disability. At that time the <br /> vote was taken to approve plan B with platform A. Plan B refers to the accessible path being <br /> over the majority of the trails but not all, omitting one area where the grade was of concern. <br /> Platform A is the viewing platform over the pond and this one has the best sun and water <br /> aspects. The Parker Meadow Project will next be presented at Town Meeting for funding. <br /> Stakeholder Focus Meeting of Recreation Department <br /> There was a public meeting to discuss how the goals of the Recreation Department <br /> could be better aligned with the needs of special interest groups. Victoria and Janet <br /> represented the Commission, and the other stakeholders included SNAP and LABBB. Janet <br /> mentioned the need for the bleachers to be striped on the edges to help those with visual <br /> issues. The priority for services was voted to be full inclusion for all programs and services. <br /> Update on Town Warrant Articles <br /> CPC projects include 10h and 10i — park and playground improvements. There should be <br /> accessible water fountains and parking. <br /> Parker Meadow is article 10k. Victoria plans to speak in support at Town Meeting. <br /> Article 101 is Greeley Village repairs, which the Commission supports <br /> Article 10m is LexHab's request for design funds to include affordable housing. The <br /> Commission supports this. We would really like to see a comprehensive plan for universal <br /> design and accessibility. <br /> Article 11 addresses Pine Meadows -to make the clubhouse accessible and replace <br /> fairway equipment. The Commission endorses efforts to make the whole course accessible.
