MINUTES <br /> FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD <br /> December 9, 2019 <br /> 4:00 p.m., Dawes Room, Town Offices <br /> Present: Doug Lucente, Chair; Suzie Barry; Norman Cohen, Edmund Grant; Paul Shupe, and <br /> Melissa Interess, Director of Human Services; Tony Serio, Assistant Director of Family and <br /> Youth Services; and Kim Katzenback, Executive Clerk to the Board of Selectmen. <br /> 1. Money Available as of 11/30/19 Income $ 13,383.48 <br /> Principal $284,354.29 <br /> 2. Human Services <br /> Human Services Report: September 1, 2019 to November 30, 2019 <br /> Melissa Interess, Director reported the following activity for the funds dispersed for the <br /> period: Fund for Lexington - $2750; Human Services Emergency Fund - $2,670.25; and <br /> Lexpress Subsidized Passes —valued at$10,360. <br /> Ms. Interess explained Human Services has noted there is a need for fuel assistance <br /> program for families in need of a one-time assistance for heating/oil when there are no <br /> other programs available elsewhere for them to get assistance. <br /> Upon a motion duly made and seconded, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 5-0 to <br /> approve $6000 to the Human Services Department to be used for an emergency fuel <br /> assistance program with the understanding Human Services will provide regular reports <br /> to the Fund for Lexington Board on monies used. <br /> 3. Other Issues <br /> Report on Annual Request for Funds <br /> The annual letter requesting donations for the Fund was sent in November. As of the <br /> December 5, 2019, $11,629.25 has been deposited. <br /> Ratify Human Services Request—TJX Holiday Gift Cards <br /> Upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was voted 5 -0 to ratify the vote for $2750 <br /> TJX Holiday Gift Cards for Families in need. <br /> 4. Review Proposed Meeting Dates <br /> The Board reviewed and confirmed the following dates for upcoming meetings: <br /> • March 16, 2020 <br /> • June 15, 2020 <br /> • September 14, 2020 <br /> • December 7, 2020 <br /> 5. Approval of September 9, 2019 Meeting Minutes. <br /> On a motion duly made and seconded, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 5 -0 to <br /> approve the September 9, 2019 meeting minutes as corrected. <br />
