<br />Town Celebrations Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />February 12, 2020 <br />Lexington Community Center <br /> <br />Members Present <br />Lorain Marquis, Chair; Suzanne Caton, Kim Coburn, Linda Dixon, Karen Gaughan, Cerise <br />Jalelian, Paul Jenkins, Wayne Miller, Bill Mix, Sandy Podgorski <br /> <br />Members Not Present <br />June Baer, Glen Bassett, Wei Ding, Mary Hutton, Gresh Lattimore, Sondra Lucente, Julie Miller, <br />Geetha Padaki, Rita Pandey, Ashley Rooney, Sue Stering, Dave Taylor, Bob Tracey, Sam Zales <br /> <br />Business: <br /> The minutes of January 29, 2020 were approved. <br /> Lorain announced that the Patriots Day stakeholders meeting will be held on Thursday, <br />2/13, at 10 am at the Town Offices. <br /> Lorain noted that she attended a joint meeting with the Arlington and Concord Patriots <br />Day committees. <br /> <br />Patriots’ Day 2020 (April 18 – 20): <br /> Linda Dixon announced that Peter and Beverly Kelley have agreed to be the Grand <br />Marshalls for this year’s parade. <br /> Lorain announced that all the permission requests for Patriots Day activities have been <br />approved by the Select Board and Town management. <br /> Lorain reported that up to 30 seats can be set up on the reviewing stand. 150 seats on two <br />bleachers are also available. The committee discussed moving the bleachers to the other <br />side of the street so they will be in the shade. Lorain will bring up the issue at the <br />stakeholders meeting on 2/13. <br /> Sandy Podgorski distributed the most recent draft of the Patriots Day Weekend schedule <br />and reminded the committee that February 15 is the deadline for including the 2020 <br />schedule of events to be included in the next Recreation Department publication. <br /> Kim Coburn will send contact information for Old Colony Pipe and Drum to Lorain to <br />ask them to participate in the parade. <br /> The committee asked Lorain to clarify what the Town’s position is on marching groups <br />carrying the flag of another country in the parade. <br /> <br />Marching Units Approved: <br />No Fee: <br /> The Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company <br /> CAAL <br /> CAL-Lex <br /> LexFUN <br /> Lexington Education Foundation <br /> Liberty Ride <br /> <br />
