 June Baer reported on her research on the use of national flags in the parade. The
committee agreed that any national flags can be carried by marching units, with the
caveat that if the American flag is also carried by a unit, the other national flag must be
carried lower than the American flag.
 Suzanne Caton noted that the sponsorship letter and form are ready to be sent and asked
for volunteers to help stuff envelopes. She also reminded the committee that we have 3
sponsors from last year who asked for a credit for this year’s parade because of the
problems with last year’s parade.
 The committee asked that the policy regarding political campaigns participating in the
parade be clarified. June Baer will review past committee meeting minutes to clarify the
policy.

Marching Units Approved:
No Fee:
 Bahkti Center
 Lexington Lions Club
 Lex Pride
 Minuteman Cane Award
 Wagon Wheel Nursery
 Waldorf School
 District 14 Free Masons
 Indian Americans of Lexington
 Lexington Goes Purple
 Lexington League of Women Voters

With Fee:
 Bedford Minuteman Company
 Middlesex County Volunteers
 Reminisants Band
 William Diamond Junior Fife and Drum Corp
 Sons of Italy Drum and Bugle Corp

New tabled units for later review:
 DB Studios
 Miss Massachusetts

The meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m. Next meeting: Wednesday, March 11, 2020, 7:00 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Suzanne Caton, Secretary
