I SELECT BOARD OFFICE PROCLAMATION Whereas: the services of the Public Works Department in Lexington are an integral part of the everyday lives of all of its citizens; and Whereas: the support of the citizens of Lexington is vital to the efficient operation of public works systems and programs such as water, sewers, streets and highways,public buildings, and solid waste collection and disposal; and Whereas: the health, safety and comfort of the citizens of Lexington greatly depends on its public works services; and Whereas: the quality and effectiveness of these facilities, as well as their planning, design, and construction, is vitally dependent upon the efforts and skill of public works employees; and Whereas: the efficiency of the qualified and dedicated employees in the public works department is materially influenced by the knowledge that their work is appreciated. NOW, THEREFORE, WE, THE SELECT BOARD of the Town of Lexington,Massachusetts, do hereby proclaim the week of May 17 to 23, 2020 as National Public Works Week in the Town of Lexington and call upon all citizens to join us in recognizing the employees of the Lexington Public Works Department.
