Approval of January 2020 Meeting Minutes <br /> Francesca Pfrommer moved and Lisa O'Brien seconded the approval of the Committee Minutes <br /> of January 15th. The Recreation Committee voted 4-0-1 to approve the January 15 minutes. <br /> 2. Community Partners Meeting <br /> Melissa Battite,Director of Recreation and Community Programs, and Melissa Interess,Director <br /> of Human Services welcomed everyone to the first annual community partners meeting. Ms. <br /> Battite explained that this meeting is the first attempt at this sort of meeting since the Community <br /> Center Program Advisory Committee(CCPAC)was dissolved in 2019. Ms. Battite,Ms. Interess, <br /> Christine Dean, Community Center Director, and Hemali Shah,Assistant Director of Human <br /> Services, gave a presentation and the presentation slides are attached to the meeting minutes. <br /> Items about the Recreation and Community Programs and Human Services Departments that <br /> were discussed included organizational structure, our team and values, and current initiatives of <br /> each department such as the mental health task force,Recreation community needs assessment, <br /> age-friendly needs assessment, and the upcoming Community Center 5-year celebration as the <br /> facility opened in July 2015. <br /> Once the presentation concluded,there was a small group activity in which those in attendance <br /> divided into three groups. One group discussed the Recreation community needs assessment and <br /> focused on what factors should be addressed and taken into consideration throughout the process. <br /> Another group reviewed the results of the age-friendly needs assessment and discussed ways to <br /> address the challenges that were presented in the results. The third group brainstormed ideas <br /> about what the 5-year celebration at the Community Center would look like. All groups were <br /> tasked with coming up with ideas to enhance multigenerational programming at the Community <br /> Center. After discussing these items in small group, members at each table took an opportunity to <br /> share their thoughts and ideas with the entire audience. <br />
