Minutes of the Lexington Tree Committee <br /> February 13, 2020 <br /> 201 Bedford Street, Room 125, Lexington MA <br /> Meeting was called to order at 7:35 AM <br /> Attending: Gerry Paul (Chair), Nancy Sofen, Gloria Bloom, Jim Wood, Pat Moyer, and Mark Sandeen <br /> (Selectmen liaison);Absent: Chris Filadoro (Tree Warden), Mark Connor <br /> 1. Gerry Paul was appointed scribe and minutes from January 9 were accepted as amended. <br /> Tree Warden Items <br /> 2. and 3. The Tree Warden was unable to attend. <br /> We had a good discussion about the need for data and the need to explain why the data is valuable <br /> and ultimately benefits the Town. <br /> 4. Tree Canopy Assessment -The program improvement request for the 2021 Town Meeting was not <br /> included in the Town Manager's recommendation. Dave Pinsonneault indicated that he will help us <br /> identify alternate funding. Separately we will investigate applying for a MVP resilience grant from the <br /> State for a full Urban Tree Canopy Master Plan. <br /> 5. Tree Management Manual - Nancy distributed a new section relating to Tree Issues With Neighbors. <br /> The Committee approved the addition. <br /> 6. New member search: Nancy will contact a possible candidate; <br /> 7. 2020 Priorities. We agreed to focus on the following priorities: <br /> • Tree Canopy Assessment - Nancy and Jim will work with Chris to identify and meet with <br /> potential vendors, understand capabilities and define deliverables. <br /> • Public Outreach (Traditional) - Pat will lead this effort working with Gloria <br /> • Public Outreach (Social Media) - Gerry will lead this effort with help from Mark (who was <br /> volunteered in absentia). <br /> Meeting adjourned at 9:15 <br />
