Greenways Corridor Committee <br /> November 21, 2019 <br /> Hudson Room, Cary Hall <br /> Lexington, Massachusetts <br /> Members Present: Mal Crawford, Alex Dohan, Peggy Enders, Eileen Entin, Don Grant, Bob <br /> Hausslein, Susan Kenyon, Keith Ohmart, Mike Tabaczynski <br /> Other Attendees: Mark Sandeen, Select Board liaison <br /> Votes: Meeting minutes of September 19, 2019: Approved <br /> Reports/Updates: <br /> • Presentation to Select Board went well on October 21. Unfortunately Jim Malloy, Town Man- <br /> ager, missed the presentation due to a conflict (but he can watch it on LexMedia if so in- <br /> clined). Keith will schedule a meeting directly with him, and include Susan, Mark Sandeen, <br /> Phil Hamilton, and Carol Kowalski. <br /> • The Bridge School boardwalk is getting done. Mike had photos, and Mal gave a report. <br /> • Work on the Jefferson Drive - Bob, Mike, & Keith flagged the rest of the trail, beyond what <br /> the developer is responsible for. Permitting will go forward in both Lexington and Burlington. <br /> Conversation followed about potential trail work on currently labeled Route 4 and Route 5. <br /> • Beaver Brook North-Brookhaven trail - will connect to the Western Greenway when com- <br /> pleted. Need surveying, to apply for permit for building in wetland areas. How much funding <br /> needed is unclear - need money for survey, for bridge materials, for NOI filing. RTP may give <br /> some funding, Brookhaven Nature Path Committee will fund access. Will have informal con- <br /> versation with ConCom to gauge work needed. <br /> • Keith will go to next convenient Recreation Committee meeting to find out about new GCC <br /> liaison. <br /> Current Business: <br /> • Route M - out Blossomcrest from Bowman, to Hayden Woods - will connect to Route H, <br /> Route B, and Route L. Conversation about how many loops/routes can overlap. Will be <br /> about 3 miles, can go in ground in Spring. <br /> New Business: <br /> • Meetings will continue on 3rd Thursday, 4:30-6pm <br /> • Report on Swamminland (Peggy) - Bob Rotberg is a trustee of the Swamminland. Keith, <br /> Peggy, & Mike will walk with Bob Rotberg to view and consider trail options. It is near Juniper <br /> Hill and Five Fields. <br /> •West Lexington Greenway recap (Peggy) - some cyclists who commute on Hartwell Ave are <br /> interested in alternate routes. Relevant to this is that Town Meeting agreed to fund a 25% de- <br /> sign for a transportation project on Hartwell Ave. An advisory committee is being formed. <br /> Pending Items: <br /> • Community Connector/Upper Vine Brook Site Report <br /> • Re-establish trail access on Cambridge Watershed land, Lincoln St to Cranberry Hill <br /> • Brochure redesign task group <br />
