I .... . ...............David Pollins................................................. with respect to the placement of a World War 11 Monument at 1875 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the Battle Green District. The monument shall be Lt. Barre granite; the granite shall have a smooth (not polished) face with "Dedicated to those citizens of Lexington who served their country during World War II 1941-1945" engraved on it. The lettering shall be 1 1/4" high and the numbers shall be 1" high. The back, sides and top of the monument shall have a natural rock face finish. The monument shall be placed on a concrete footing; min. 12" thickness. The monument shall be located approximately 30' from the USS Lexington Memorial and approximately G' back from the path. Landscaping around the monument shall be done in the spring. Except as otherwise noted, work shall be in accordance with the information submitted on September G, 1995, and after installation, shall, in the judgment of this Commission, be maintained in good repair. This Certificate shall be void if not acted upon within one year from the date of the Certificate, or if the work described is removed, abandoned, or replaced. Please note that new building construction, including additions, alterations and repairs and the erection of signs require the submission of final plans to the Town of Lexington Building Department for issuance of a building permit.
