WATER AND SEWER ABATEMENT BOARD <br /> Meinbers: 3 <br /> Appointed by: Board of Selectmen <br /> Length of Term: 3-years, staggered <br /> Appointments Made: September 30 <br /> Meeting Times: <br /> Description: There shall be a Water/Sewer Abatement Board consisting of three menibers appointed by fhe Board <br /> of Selectmen. Members shall serve three-year terms with one member's term expiring each year. <br /> The duties of the Board shall include,but not be limited to,the receipt of applications from ratepayers for abatement <br /> ar adjustment of water/sewer charges due to disputes,hardship or error; and,the establishment of policies and <br /> procedures to guide said Board in the determination of the amount of any adjustment or abatement of charges. Such <br /> determinations shall constitute a recommendation that must be submitted to the Board of Selectmen for final <br /> approval. <br /> Policies and procedures developed by the Water/Sewer Abatement Board shall be effective upon approval by the <br /> Board of Selectmen. <br /> The Assistant Town Manager for Finance or his designee shall serve as staff to the Water and Sewer Abatement <br /> Board. <br /> Criteria for Membership: <br /> Re£: Board of Selectmen adopted charge on 10/17/07.
