LEXINGTON CENTER COMMITTEE <br /> (LCC) <br /> Members: 11 <br /> Appointed by: Board of Selectmen <br /> Length of Term: 3 year staggered <br /> Appointments made: September 30 <br /> Meeting Times: 3rd Thursday of the month at 8:30 a.m. <br /> and as posted <br /> Description: The Lexington Center Committee is charged with advising the Board of Selectmen and the business <br /> community on managing change in the center in order to ensure its long-term viability while preserving its historical <br /> significance and the integrity of adjacent neighborhoods. This Committee focuses on achieving commercial <br /> diversity,increased social and cultural activity,enhanced aesthetics,improved traffic flow,and increased parking in <br /> Lexington Center. <br /> Criteria for Membership: Members represent town government(e.g., Selectmen and Planning Board),the Chamber <br /> of Commerce,and the business community. Neighborhood residents and interested citizens are also encouraged to <br /> become involved. <br /> Ref.: Charge adopted by Selectmen on January 2, 1980. <br /> Revised October 21, 1986. <br /> Revised October 31, 1988 to increase membership from 9 to 11. <br /> Selectmen designated as Special Municipal Employees on January 9, 1989. <br /> Selectmen reaffirmed designation as Special Municipal Employees on January 18,2006. <br />
