TREE COMMITTEE <br /> Members: 7 <br /> Appointed by: Board of Selectmen <br /> Length of Term: 3 years, staggered <br /> Appointments made: September 30 <br /> Meeting Times: 2nd Thursday of each month <br /> Description: The Tree Committee shall have the following duties and responsibilities as may be further specified in <br /> this by-law: development of rules,regulations,tree inventory,manuals and other data,in conjunction with the Tree <br /> Warden,to carry out the purposes and intent of this by-law,for approval and promulgation by the Selectmen;permit <br /> the removal of certain trees on private property upon appeal, by an applicant;public education and coordination with <br /> other Town Committees and civic groups to promote the purposes and intent of this by-law;work in conjunction <br /> with the Tree Warden to seek grants or other assistance concerning the preservation and maintenance of trees in <br /> Town. <br /> Ref.: Lexington Code Chapter 120 §6 <br /> Selectmen designated as Special Municipal Employees on January 18,2006. <br />
