<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />BOARD OF REGISTRARS <br />June 26, 2018 <br /> <br />The meeting of the Board of Registrars was called to order at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, <br />June 26, 2018 in the Reed Room, Town Office Building, 1625 Massachusetts Avenue. <br />Present: Registrars, Gordon Jones, Chair, Judy Moore, Mark Vitunic and Town Clerk, <br />Nathalie Rice. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes: <br />MOTION: That meeting minutes of the July 5, 2017, March 19, 21 and 22, 2018 <br />meetings be accepted as written. <br />Motion approved. <br /> <br />Election of Chair: <br />MOTION: That Gordon Jones be appointed as Chair of the Board of Registrars for <br />the upcoming 2018-2019 year. <br />Motion approved. Mr. Jones abstained from the vote. <br /> <br /> Approval of Assistant Registrars and Signature Stamp Authorizations: <br />MOTION: That the following staff of the Town Clerk’s Office be designated as <br />Assistant Registrars: Dianne Sperber, Lisa Maguire, Kelley Cutone-Clair and Gina <br />Carme and that use of the Board of Registrar signature stamp with the names of Gordon <br />M. Jones III, Judy E. Moore, Mark R. Vitunic and Nathalie L. Rice be approved for the <br />purposes of certification of petitions, nominations, and attestations. <br /> Motion approved. <br /> <br />Review and Recommend 2018-2019 Election Officer Appointments: <br /> MOTION: That the Board review the List of 183 Election Officers for the 2018-2019 <br /> year, endorse and forward the list to the Board of Selectmen for appointment. <br /> Motion approved. <br /> <br />Discussion of Upcoming State Primary and November State Election: <br />th <br />Ms. Rice updated the Board on the upcoming September 4 State Election and plans for <br />th <br />the November 6 State Election. She informed the Board that “Poll Pads” would be used <br />to check in voters during Early Voting for the State Election. There is no internet <br />connection, she explained; the Poll Pads are simply a tablet on which the voter’s list is <br />loaded. She reported that the Poll Pads enable a label to be printed for each voter. The <br />voter’s name can then be scanned into the State database, significantly reducing staff time <br />in processing early voters. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:53 a.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />Nathalie L.
