<br />MINUTES <br /> <br />FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD <br /> <br />September 13, 2016 <br />4:30 p.m., Selectmen’s Office <br /> <br />Present: Norman Cohen, Alan Fields, Ed Grant, Paul Shupe and Alan Wrigley; Kristie Demirev, <br />Assistant Director of Youth and Family Services and Alicke Grobler, Social Worker Intern. <br /> <br /> <br />1. Money Available as of 8/31/16: Income $ 34,868 <br /> Principal $ 273,698 <br /> <br /> <br />2. Human Services: <br />a. Human Services Report: April 23, 2016 to August 31, 2016 -- Kristie Demirev <br />reviewed the activity for the period and stated that requests for financial aid were <br />down. Scholarships for students to attend Recreation Department summer programs <br />were distributed as were a number of grocery cards. Also discussed was how the <br />Town responds to citizens who have received eviction notices from Avalon and who <br />need immediate help. <br /> <br />b. Ratified: Human Services Request -- $1,783.73 for Rent and Water/Sewer charges – <br />Approved 5 – 0. <br /> <br /> <br />3. Other Issues: <br />a. The usual letter soliciting funds will be drafted by the Chairman. <br />b. The Human Services Department emergency fund was discussed. The Fund for <br />Lexington can provide additional money if needed. <br /> <br /> <br />4. Next Meeting – December 13, 2016, 4:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />5. Approval of the April 26, 2016 minutes – Approved 5-0. <br />
