<br />MINUTES <br /> <br />FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD <br /> <br />March 7, 2017 <br />4:30 p.m., Selectmen’s Office <br /> <br />Present: Norman Cohen, Ed Grant, Peter Kelley, and Alan Wrigley; Charlotte Rodgers, Director <br />of Human Services; Kristie Demirev, Assistant Director of Youth and Family Services. <br />Absent: Paul Schupe <br /> Alan Fields <br /> <br />1. Money Available as of 01/31/2017: Income $ 28, 426l.05 <br /> Principal $ 303,823.76 <br /> <br />2. Human Services: <br />a. Human Services Report: December 1, 2016 to February 28, 2017- Charlotte Rodgers <br />and Kristie Demirev reviewed the activity for the period which included a request for <br />fuel assistance and help with back rent. The Board was briefed on how the Human <br />Services reviews requests for assistance and examples were given of requests that <br />have been denied. Following the Board’s last meeting, Kristie Demirev followed up <br />on the discussion held with respect to the need for scholarship funds to aid low- <br />income families seeking to send children to summer camp programs sponsored by the <br />Town. A pilot program was proposed to be administered by the Human Service <br />Department. It was voted 4-0 to allot $10,000 for the pilot program. <br />b. Ratify Human Services Request - $1,000 for relocation expenses for person moving <br />to a more affordable apartment. Approved 4-0 <br /> <br />3. Other Issues: <br />a. A request was made for $6,700 to cover the cost for the restoration of the oil painting <br />Margaret Lady Lexington that is permanently placed in Cary Memorial Hall. After <br />discussion, the Board voted 4-0 to reject this since it did not fit the purposes for <br />which the Fund was established. <br /> <br />4. Next Meeting – June 13, 2017, 4:30 p.m. <br /> <br />5. Approval of the December 13, 2017 minutes – Approved 4-0 <br />
