Town Celebrations Committee <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> January 30, 2019 <br /> Lexington Community Center <br /> Members Present <br /> Lorain Marquis, Chair; June Baer, Suzanne Caton, Kim Coburn, Linda Dixon, Karen Gaughan, Mary <br /> Hutton, Paul Jenkins, Gresh Lattimore, Julie Miller, Geetha Padaki <br /> Members Not Present <br /> Glen Bassett, Wei Ding, Carol Flynn, Cerise Jalelian, Sondra Lucente, Wayne Miller, Bill Mix, Rita <br /> Pandey, Sandy Podgorski, Sue Stering, Dave Taylor, Bob Tracey, Sam Zales <br /> Business: <br /> • The chair reported that a quorum was present and the meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm. <br /> • Minutes from the meeting of January 16, 2019 were approved as amended. <br /> • Lorain welcomed Gresh Lattimore to the committee. Lorain also noted that Ashley Rooney has <br /> joined the committee. Ashley has volunteered to do PR for the committee. <br /> • Kim Coburn showed the committee the flyers made to advertise the US Air Force Heritage <br /> Band who will be performing at Cary Hall on February 25. Kim asked for help in distributing <br /> the flyers. Anyone who can help should contact Lorain or Sandy Podgorski. <br /> • The committee briefly discussed how to keep the TCC Facebook page secure and how to curate <br /> the contents. <br /> • Kim briefly described the Lexington Community Coalition and passed around a sheet of town <br /> information that the Coalition distributes to residents. Lorain will attend the next Coalition <br /> meeting to represent the TCC. <br /> • Lorain reported that the Town has hired a new Public Information Officer, Sean Dugan. <br /> • The next TCC meeting will be on February 13, 2019. <br /> Patriots' Day, April 15, 2019: <br /> • Lorain encouraged the committee members to attend the Patriots' Day stakeholders meeting on <br /> Thursday, January 31, at 10 am in the Parker Room, Town Offices. Responses to the <br /> stakeholders survey will be discussed at the meeting. <br /> • Linda Dixon made a brief report on survey responses received so far. <br /> • Lorain reported that she had contacted the National Park Service at the Minuteman National <br /> Park to ask if they are interested in cooperating with the TCC on publicity for the weekend. <br /> They are very interested and will set up a meeting with Lorain to discuss further. <br /> • Lorain reported that the online marching units application is working out well. Most of the <br /> applications she has received have been online. <br /> • Lorain reviewed Patriots' Day checklist items. The committee determined that 6 golf carts will <br /> be needed this year. Paul Jenkins confirmed that he will obtain radios for the TCC to use for the <br /> Parade, as in the past. <br /> • Suzanne reported that the sponsorship database has been submitted to the Board of Selectmen <br /> for approval. She is in the process of writing letters to sponsors from 2018 who have a credit <br /> toward sponsorship in the 2019 parade. <br />
