The Acting <br /> Clerk was also present . <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted <br /> to grant the following licenses: Licenses <br /> Robert Bruce MacLaren 10 Hartford St. , Bedford Taxi Driver <br /> Philip L. Caples 31 Chase Ave . , Lexington Auctioneer' s <br /> Frederic B. Hubley !} Stetson St. , Lexington It <br /> Robert N. Cann 4.8 Hancock St. , Lexington " <br /> The Chairman read a letter from Paul G. Cunningham <br /> 133 Bedford Street, requesting permission to sell American <br /> Flags from door to door in the Town of Lexington. The <br /> Clerk was instructed to check with Chief Rycroft to see Permit <br /> if a Peddler's License was necessary; otherwise , there <br /> was no objection to the request, and upon motion duly <br /> made and seconded, it was voted that it be granted. <br /> Letter from Harold J. Toole, Director of Water <br /> Division and Chief Water Supply Engineer, MDC , rela- <br /> tive to mailing notices with reference to Chapter 221 of <br /> the Acts of 1961. Chapter 221 <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted notices <br /> to advise Mr. Toole that all notices relative to hear- <br /> ings to be held in accordance with the provisions of <br /> this act should be sent to the Chairman, Board of Select- <br /> men, Lexington. <br /> The Chairman read a letter from the Town Celebrations <br /> Committee requesting their reviewing stand for the 19th <br /> of April be increased by half the present length. April 19 <br /> The Chairman reported that she had discussed the Stands <br /> subject with Mr. Carroll, Superintendent of Public <br /> Works, as this construction comes under the jurisdiction <br /> of the Park Department and he had 6ustance Bros . figure <br /> on the cost. They submitted a figure of $400. However, <br /> the . Public Works Department does not have $400. extra. <br /> Mr. Cole questioned if the Committee would be able <br /> to pay that amount out of its budget; and if its funds <br /> were depleted before the end of the year, would they be <br /> 111 <br /> able to get approval from the Appropriation Committee <br />
