366 <br /> SELEC TMENtS MEETING <br /> February 27, 1961 <br /> A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was <br /> held in the Selectments Room, Town Office Building, <br /> on Monday, February 27, 1961, at 7:30 P.M. Chairman <br /> Morey, Messrs . Adams, Feguson, and Richards were pre- <br /> sent . The Executive Clerk was also present . Mr . Cole <br /> arrived at 8:20 P.M. <br /> Hearing was declared open upon application of the <br /> Lexington Federal Savings and Loan Association for <br /> permission to maintain an underground tank for the <br /> storage of 3500 gallons of #2 fuel oil on premises <br /> located at 1840 Massachusetts Avenue . <br /> Mr . Harold I. Wellington and Mr. Robert Custance <br /> Fuel oil were present, representing the petitioner . <br /> storage The Chairman asked if the tank was unusually <br /> hearing large and Mr. Wellington replied that they generally <br /> run from 2,000 to 4,000 gallons and said that the <br /> Arcade Building will be doubled in capacity. <br /> The Chairman asked about the capacity of the <br /> present tank and Mr. Wellington replied that it is <br /> 550 gallons . <br /> The Chaimmdnlasked about the frequency of <br /> deliveries and Mr. Wellington replied that it would <br /> be at least once a month. <br /> Mr. Custance presented a blueprint of the pro- <br /> perty and explained the location of the building and <br /> tank. <br /> The hearing was declared closed at 7:41 P.M. , at <br /> which time Messrs . Wellington and Custance retired. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted <br /> to grant a license to the Lexington Federal Savings <br /> and Loan Association to maintain an underground tank <br /> for the storage of 3500 gallons of #2 fuel oil on <br /> premises located at 1840 Massachusetts Avenue . <br /> Mr. John J. Carroll, Superintendent of Public <br /> Works, met with the Board. <br /> Mr. Ferguson referred to the letter received <br /> from Mrs. Gedritis with reference to "No Parking" <br /> signs being posted in front of the First Church of <br /> Christ Scientist and explained that he had talked to <br /> Mrs. Gedritis twice and reported to the Board ,about <br /> a month ago. 1 <br />
