305 <br /> SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br /> January 14, 1961. <br /> A special meeting of the Board of Selectmen was <br /> held in the Selectmen' s Room, Town Office Building, on <br /> Saturday, Januaty 14, 1961, at 2:00 P.M. Chairman Morey, <br /> Messrs . Adams , Ferguson, Richards, and Cole were present . <br /> Mr. Stevens, Town Counsel, Mr. Francis J. Hunt, Chief <br /> John W. Rycroft, Lieutenant James E. Corr, Sergeant John <br /> A. Russell, Sergeant Russell' s attorney, and the Execu- <br /> tive Clerk were also present. <br /> The Chairman called the meeting to order and stated <br /> that the Board was meeting to consider charges brought <br /> against an officer on the police force . In view of the <br /> fiathre of the charges and the possible attendant dis- <br /> cussion, it has been thought best that the Chairman <br /> withdraw and there be a temporary Chairman for this after- <br /> noon session. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unani- <br /> mously voted to'elect Mr. Norman J. Richards as Temporary <br /> Chairman. <br /> Mrs . Morey left the meeting. <br /> The Chairman stated tht in view of the type of hearing <br /> beingheld, a temporary Clerk should be appointed. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unani- <br /> mously voted to appoint Mr. Francis.
