e .. d <br /> S�:,,=EC TMEN I S t_- E TI NG <br /> March 12, 1962 <br /> A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was <br /> held in the Selectmen' s Room, Town Office Building, <br /> on Monday, March 12, 1962, at 7:30 P.M. Messrs . Adams, <br /> Richards, Cole , Burnell and Brown were present . Mr. <br /> Staples, Executive Assistant, and Miss Murray, Execu- <br /> tive Clerk, Were also present . <br /> The meeting was called to order by the Executive <br /> Clerk who stated that motions were in order for the <br /> election of a Chairman. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, Hr . Alan G . <br /> Adams was nominated Chairman of the Board for the <br /> ensuing year. Organizatior <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, nominations <br /> were closed. <br /> The Executive Clerk cast one ballot for Mr. Adams <br /> as Chairman. <br /> Mr. Adams was unanimously elected Chairman of the <br /> Board for the ensuing year . <br /> Mr. Serverson, representing the Boston Edison <br /> Company, met with the Board relative to proposed service <br /> to the Manhattan Restaurant, 41 Waltham Street . He <br /> stated that there are poles presently located with <br /> street lights and the company desires to attach an <br /> aerial cable . He explained that the company has to Pole <br /> supply the restaurant with service of a type which location <br /> cannot be fed from the street . <br /> Mr . Staples reported that he had looked the situ- <br /> ation over and could see no objections to what the <br /> company proposes . He explained that the proposed pole <br /> in the rear will be on land owned by the restaurant. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted <br /> to grant permission to the Boston Edison Company to run <br /> and maintain wires to service the Manhattan Restaurant . <br /> Hearing was declared open upon petition of the <br /> Boston Edison Company and the New England Telephone and <br /> Telegraph Company for permission to locate three poles <br /> on Allen Street. Pole <br /> Notice of the hearing was mailed to the petitioners locations <br /> owners of property as listed on the petitioners ' plan <br /> and also filed with the Superintendent of Public Works . <br /> Mr. Serverson, representing the Boston Edison <br /> Company, and Mr. Robert J.
