conference meeting was field by the Historic Districts Commission <br /> -Tudaday evening, Sept , 165 1958 in the Qlectmen'8 Roam, Town Office <br /> Building at 7a30 P.M. with the Building Committee of the Simon T. <br /> Robinson Masonic Temple. Sitting on the Commission were Charles <br /> Davis, Chairman, Philip 'arsons, Edwin Worthen, Jr. .and. Associate <br /> Members Charles Colo and Adm.Kend ll deed, the same members who vat <br /> on the original hearing. Five members of the Masonic Building Committee <br /> were present. <br /> The purpose of the meeting was to get around the details of the roofs. <br /> Mr.Brickson, architect, said the suggestion had been made to drop <br /> the line of the roof and he showed the original acietG'has and also 'xhhe <br /> new ones, pointing out the changes. He had carried out the main roof <br /> line and then dropped it, thereby- tieing the wholes thing together. <br /> It was also pointed out that this made the rear mare attractive, by <br /> diving a break on they rear. There was a discussion of the ventilation. <br /> Mr.Borden,Chairman of the Building CommUtee, said he was quite <br /> enthusiastic about the new plans, <br /> Mr.Brickson said it seemed impossible to match h the present slats <br /> shingles on. the roof and they would like to use asphalt shingles of <br /> a dark color, similar in color to the oases now on. He said they <br /> thought something along the lisp of the ones on tht Cary- Memorial <br /> Library would be goat suitable. <br /> A discussion war then, held on the fire escape.
