K<ovember 5, 1957 <br /> The Historic Districts Coun scion held a meeting immediately <br /> following the hearing on the application of the Hancock <br /> Ccn�regational Church. All Comrissione rs and alternates were <br /> pr :sent. <br /> The Comw1assioners discussed the petition of the Hancock <br /> Congregatinnal Church at some length. Mr. Davis read a letter <br /> from Dr.Norman Heboyer , abutter to the west, in which he <br /> stated his opposition fo the addition. After consider:3ble <br /> discussion of the effect such an addition would have on <br /> the appearance of the Battle green by the ComxrA ssioners, it <br /> was voted unanimously to de3y the application and the <br /> Commissioners proceeded, to draft the deten,:ination. <br /> b -Y°. Davis read a letter from Mr.Nelson of Nantucket proposing <br /> exchange of Acts, maps, foram, eto. Yjr.Taylor will reply to <br /> tkis. <br /> Letter was also discussed regarding Round fable Conference <br /> recently he3ff at New Ocean House. <br /> Letter read from Mies Tuttle of 12 Hancock 5t.regarding fence <br /> and barn on Masonic property which she dislikes. Mr.Davis <br /> talked with her and advised her to contact trust6ee of Masonic <br /> Temple . <br /> Discussion on paintln-r and. sign on store no'.-7 being oceuppied <br /> by Sherwin-Williams Paint. Both Mr.Taylor and Mr.Sanith have <br /> been in touch with them and Mr. Davis will contact them again, <br /> so they will get in an application for painting store and <br /> sign. ** 'Note .from Clerks (This application received today <br /> 11/6/57 by Mr.Tq-ylor. ) <br /> 6 ignss Pictures have beer taken. Mr.Hettell will <br /> contact Mr.CodYcan to see how they handled this in the Beacon <br /> Hill area. <br /> Decided to frame lett r to a7.1 in Distrusts regarding .Act, and <br /> also send copy of occupants of stores as well in business <br /> area. Copy of Act will be sent out toy.-, if poseible .
