Town of Lexington <br /> Sustainable Lexington Committee <br /> Minutes of Meeting of September 27, 2016 <br /> A meeting of the Sustainable Lexington Committee (SLC) was held on September 27, <br /> 2016 at the Town Office Building. A quorum of five was present. <br /> Members Present: Mark Sandeen, Marcia Gens, Dan Voss, Todd Rhodes, Rick <br /> Reibstein <br /> Members Absent: None <br /> Other Attendees: Aiman Alawa, CEO, NuWatt Energy <br /> Mohammed Siddiqui, President, Solution Sales Management <br /> James Cerbone, Project Manager—Environmental Services, <br /> MassDOT <br /> Eric Wood, Principal, Ramboll Environ <br /> Don Pettey, Mass DOT <br /> Joe Pato, Board of Selectmen <br /> Kris <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:20 pm. <br /> Update of Town Building Projects (J. Pato) <br /> • J. Pato provided an overview of the Town's building projects including the purchase <br /> of the Liberty Mutual Building, the Pelham Building, changes to the Bedford Street <br /> Fire Station, Hastings Elementary School. <br /> Presentation: Benefits of Co-location of PV Solar Energy Generation with Highway <br /> Noise Barriers <br /> • The program has been under consideration for 2 years, working through DOT review. <br /> • This would be the first such program in North America <br /> • NuWatt is expected to be the developer with KO-TECH, but the size requires it be put <br /> out to bid. The RFP/RFQ will likely go out in January 2017 and construction would <br /> be in the spring of 2017. <br /> Getting to Net Zero (M. Sandeen) <br /> • Established agreement with Perigrin and they are developing the baseline. <br /> • Reaching out to Sustainable Partners International (SPI) and Integral as potential <br /> support. <br /> Solar Task Force (D. Voss) <br /> • Hartwell project has building permit. Ground prep in process. Foundations are being <br /> installed. <br /> • Working to get the system in place by January 8, 2017. <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
