Greenways Corridor Committee
November 15, 2018
Ellen Stone Room, Cary Hall
Lexington, Massachusetts
Members Present: Mal Crawford, Alex Dohan, Eileen Entin, Don Grant, Bob Hausslein, Keith
Ohmart, Mike Tabaczynski
Other Attendees: none
Votes: Minutes of October 11, 2018, meeting: Approved
Reports/Updates:
• Hayden Woods boardwalk work is coming along well. Could possibly be finished with a big
push this Saturday.
• QR codes - Bob brought signs with stickers; we discussed best combination of information.
QR code now takes user to map. Much cheaper per sticker to get 1000 stickers, funds will
come from Rick Abrams Trust. Should re-activate & link ACROSSLEXINGTON.ORG.
• Sign post at Clarke School finally replaced. Not quite in right spot, but close enough to work.
Should have conversation with Jordan about trail access improvement in spring.
• Route J - Bob has moved the signs so that the route crosses Mass Ave at Oak St, where
there is a crosswalk, since the other crosswalk near Ellen Dana Ct was moved. There may
be some accessibility issues with Rte J - Susan has the information and will update us next
meeting.
• We should invite the new Town Manager to attend one of our upcoming meetings.
• Route K - Keith and Mal will look for drill holes noted on the plot plan for the Parcel B(A) be-
tween Peacock Farm Rd and Sutherland Woods. Also will check with Carol Kowalski on
Town Counsel response to question on Easements on 41 and/or 43 Peacock Farm Rd.
• Bridge School trail boardwalk NOI - Mal has finished up, just needs Book & Page numbers,
which Town does not seem to have. Walked site with Karen and Jordan, who suggested ex-
tending the boardwalk to the bridge, making a smoother transition. Would like to present to
Conservation Commission in January/February to be ready for spring building season. Ques-
tion arose as to who pays for abutter notification mailing.
• Karen has put in funding request for a third summer intern, which would help with trail
maintenance.
Current Business:
• Accessible Trail - Keith and Mal met with Michael Martignetti and Victoria Buckley from the
Commission on Disability. The Parker Meadow ADA trail is now on the back burner in favor
of accessible improvements to thethe4afW Willards Woods trail system and work at Cotton
Farm . It is unclear how the Willards Woods trail will connect to a parking area. GCC
should work closely with the Commission on Disability to better coordinate accessible trail
improvements going forwardget a survey done and GGme up with n nrenc+ri ar+i„n h dge +„r
+ha I U0 (`„n,n,i ani+„ r+r a- .
