Town Celebrations Committee <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> April 11, 2018 <br /> Room 242, Lexington Community Center <br /> Members Present <br /> Lorain Marquis, Chair; June Baer, Glen Bassett, Suzanne Caton, Linda Dixon, Carol Flynn, Karen <br /> Gaughan, Mary Hutton, Cerise Jalelian, Paul Jenkins, Sondra Lucente, Julie Miller, Wayne Miller, Bill <br /> Mix, Sandy Podgorski, Sue Stering, Bob Tracey. <br /> Members Not Present <br /> Kim Coburn, Henry Murphy, Geetha Padaki, Gina Rada, Dave Taylor, Sam Zales. <br /> Business <br /> • The Chair reported that a quorum was present. <br /> • The minutes of the meeting of April 4, 2018, were approved. <br /> • The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Community Center. <br /> Patriots Day, Monday, April 16, 2018 <br /> • Henry Liu of the Lexington Minutemen reported to the committee that the Minutemen were <br /> concerned about the weather forecast. He told the committee that the earliest a decision would <br /> be made about canceling the reenactment would be Saturday afternoon. He asked for the <br /> committee's feedback and the committee confirmed that we would try to hold the afternoon <br /> parade if at all possible. <br /> • Lorain handed out a list of assignments for committee members on Patriots' Day and asked for <br /> feedback. <br /> • Paul Jenkins reported that he will deliver the sponsor banners to the East Lexington firehouse <br /> on Saturday. Paul also confirmed that John Carroll's truck will be parked at the end of the <br /> parade to pick up the banners at the finish. <br /> • Wayne confirmed that he will set up the registration desk. Sondra said that she has a tent that <br /> could be set up over the desk. <br /> • Wayne, Bob Tracey, Dave Taylor, Eric, and Lorain will set up the stakes at 3 pm on Sunday. <br /> • Lorain asked if the committee would accept the application of the Committee to Elect Michelle <br /> Ciccolo to be a marching unit in the Parade. The committee approved the application. <br /> • Need to pin down who will be working at the registration desk. <br /> • Lorain asked for committee members to volunteer to attend the Old Guard demonstration at <br /> noon on Saturday at the Green. She also asked for members to volunteer to attend the concert <br /> at Tower Park by Colonial Williamsburg at 3 on Saturday and to attend the lunch provided for <br /> the Old Guard at Brookhaven at 2 pm on Saturday. <br /> • Glen Bassett will be the introductory MC for the morning ceremonies. If the morning parade is <br /> rained out, the ceremonies will be held at Cary Hall at 8:15. <br /> • Lorain reported that the Waldorf School group that will march in the parade asked if they can: <br /> o Bring dogs on leashes —Committee said no <br /> o Hand out pencils —Committee said no <br /> o Bring strollers —Committee said yes <br />
