The committee approved the
payment.
• Suzanne reported that all the Gold, Silver, and Bronze level sponsors were contacted to ask
them how they wanted their sponsorship contributions to be handled, since the parade was
cancelled. Only 3 sponsors asked for refunds. The rest chose either to make their contributions
donations to the parade fund or to have their contributions be credited toward sponsorship for
the 2019 parade.
Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, 2018
• Lorain gave the parade information to Kim for forwarding to the Lexington High School
Marching Band director.
• Linda announced that Ed LoTurco had agreed to be Grand Marshal for the parade.
• Although the CAALS group offered to march in the Memorial Day parade, the committee
determined that their dragon dance performance would not be appropriate for the occasion. It
was suggested that CAALS apply to perform at Discovery Day.
• The committee discussed holding the Memorial Day ceremony in Cary Hall, rather than on the
Green. The sense of the committee was that it would be best to hold the ceremony on the Green
and only move it to Cary Hall in case of rain. In case of rain, the ceremony would start at 10
am in Cary Hall.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:OOpm.
Respectfully submitted,
Suzanne Caton, Co-Secretary
Future Meetings: 05/16/18, 05/23/18, 06/06/18.
