Lexington Tree Committee <br /> Town of Lexington, Massachusetts <br /> 201 Bedford Street, Samuel Hadley Public Services Building, Room 125 <br /> Minutes, Meeting of July 12, 2018 <br /> Attendees: John Frey (Chairman), Gerry Paul, Jewel Kuljian, Jim Wood, Pat Moyer, Anne <br /> Senning and Chris Filadoro (Tree Warden) <br /> 1. Gerry Paul took his turn as scribe. and minutes of the June 14 meeting were approved as <br /> amended. <br /> 2. Chris provided the following updates: <br /> • Provided an up-to-date list of Tree bylaw sites. <br /> • Indicated that the Tree bylaw procedures were followed at 27 Clarke St ( a site where <br /> there has been significant community interest). <br /> • At the Grove Street development, Chris approved the removal of 8 hazard trees of the <br /> 20 Town trees the builder wants to remove. The builder will discuss the issue of the <br /> other 12 trees with the Planning Board which has requested that a sidewalk should be <br /> installed where most of the 12 trees are located. <br /> • Chris will provide a list of trees planted (location, species, and date planted) in 2017 and <br /> 2018 in the next few days. He indicated that to date he has provided Matt Foti with <br /> approximately 65 planting locations for the spring 2018 planting. <br /> 3. Elect new Chairman on John's retirement: Gerry will act as acting chairman for the next <br /> month. Pat will follow up with Nancy to see if she is willing to be chair. <br /> 4. Search for candidates for open Tree Committee position: Anne will write an article for the <br /> Minuteman and the Colonial times on John's retirement and on the fact that there is an opening <br /> on the Tree Committee. We will all try to identify possible candidates for the opening. Gerry will <br /> see if the Selectmen's office will post the opening. <br /> 5. Tree Management Manual update. The committee approved the following appendices: Tree <br /> Bylaw, Chapter 87 and Scenic Roads. <br /> Next regular meeting: August 9, 2018, 7:30 a.m. at DPW <br />
