TOWN OF LEXINGTON <br />Massachusetts <br />02420 <br />Minutes of October 1, 1998 <br />PETITIONS HEARD: <br />HISTORIC DISTRICTS COMMISSION <br />Commissioners in attendance: Ian Adamson, Joann Gschwendtner, and Steve Politi; Associate Commissioners: <br />Walter Bergler, Elaine Doran, and Eleanor MacQueen. <br />The Commission discussed the draft Application and Application Instructions and Guidelines. The sub- <br />committee had incorporated comments into their draft. The documents were adopted by vote of the <br />Commission. <br />10 Woburn Street — This hearing was continued at the request of John D'Orsi, the owner of the Gingerbread <br />Construction Company. <br />39 Bedford Street — Wendy Regan of Gulf/Cumberland Farms presented plans for the canopy over the gas <br />pumps. It had been modified at the suggestion of the Design Advisory Committee. Certificate 98C -81. <br />1793 Massachusetts Avenue — John O'Donnell and Jim Nihan presented several options for signs for the <br />Medford Co- operative Bank The name signs for the Massachusetts Avenue and Depot Square sides were <br />approved. The hearing was continued to allow review of the ATM signs. Certificate 98C -82. <br />15 Muzzey Street — Jefrey Lyon, manager of the property received approval for the demolition of a garage at the <br />back of the property. Certificate 98C -83. <br />627 Massachusetts Avenue — Mirko Matejic did a brief presentation on chimney caps. He sought approval of an <br />inside mounted cap. It was approved. Certificate 98C -84. <br />1776 Massachusetts Avenue — (Steve Politi stepped out during this hearing) Jim Nihan proposed a sign for the <br />US Trust building. The hearing was continued in order to have a scaled drawing available. <br />1 Wallis Court — David Rosen presented plans for an awning over the front entrance. The Commission was <br />receptive to the idea. The hearing was continued to allow some modifications to the design. <br />16 Hancock Street — Rick Castino presented plans for a handicapped access ramp on behalf of the Januttas. The <br />ramp was approved. Certificate 98C -85. <br />CONTINUED HEARINGS: <br />1656 Massachusetts Avenue — No one showed to present plans. <br />
