TOWN OF LEXINGTON <br />Massachusetts <br />02173 <br />Minutes of February 5, 1998 Meeting <br />HISTORIC DISTRICTS COMMISSION <br />Commissioners in attendance: Ian Adamson, Richard Bechtel, Mark DiNapoli, Elaine Doran, <br />Joann Gschwendtner, and Stephen Politi <br />PETITIONS HEARD: <br />1806 Massachusetts Avenue - Kathryn Fields requested approval of a wooden sign and two flower <br />boxes. The sign will be for "Small Indulgences of the Crafty Yankee". The proposal was <br />approved. Certificate 98C-07 <br />1749 Massachusetts Avenue - John Hunter presented plans for a sign at Lexington Creamery. <br />The hearing was continued. <br />11 -15 Waltham Street - Jeffrey Lyon proposed re- siding the building which was approved. The <br />decision on the color was continued until the next meeting. <br />10 Bloomfield Street - The architect Leslie Stahl presented plans for an addition and other <br />changes to the house. While many issues were continued to the next hearing, the french door, <br />windows, deck, roof, gutters and downspouts were approved. Certificate 98C-09 <br />1666 Massachusetts Avenue - Sharon Spaulding sought approval of a change in the signage " <br />Diana Pallata Interiors" to "Lexington Estate Jewelers ". The sign was approved. Certificate 98C-10 <br />CONTINUED HEARINGS: <br />72 Waltham Street - Michael Saunders wanted to change a previously approved 8' dormer to a 16' <br />dormer. This request was denied. A vent for a gas stove was approved by a three to one vote. <br />Mark DiNapoli, Richard Bechtel and Ian Adamson voted to approve and Stephen Politi voted <br />against. Certificate 98C-11 <br />1709 Massachusetts Avenue - Howard Gevertz, owner of the new Stone Soup Grill and Cafe, <br />returned with pictures of the coach lights for the rear of the property. These were approved. <br />Certificate 98C-12 <br />45 Waltham Street - Joel Chambers of Guardian Savings had called to postpone the hearing . <br />34 Hancock Street - Bruce McCarthy requested permission to extend the existing dormer. The <br />request was denied. <br />
