Laurie, who plan an addition to the rear of <br /> their house at 15 Haneock Street. Such scale drawings were <br /> requested to replace others presented earlier, which were <br /> considered by the Commission not adequate to illustrate the <br /> work intended. The Commission was satisfied with the drawings <br /> newly submitted and accordingly VOTED to approve the same. <br /> The final hearing of the evening concerned a child's <br /> playhouse to be erected at 30 Hancock Street Trust. At 9s00 <br /> P. M. Mr. Jones presented the plans, which included a plot <br /> plan showing the playhouse's location in the southwesterly <br /> corner of the lot, conforming to requirements laid down by <br /> the Board of Appeals. The Commission discussed with Mr. <br /> Jones modifications in the standard playhouse shown in his <br /> presentation, all of which will be incorporated in a certi- <br /> ficate of appropriateness, and at the conclusion of the <br /> hearing it was VOTED to approve the playhouse, as modified. <br /> Dr. and Mrs. William Cosgrove spoke in favor of the playhouse <br /> as they did earlier with respect to the Laurie application <br /> at 15 Hancock Street. <br /> Mr. Bruce Ribas then discussed the signs he wishes to <br /> erect for his new store, Melinda's, opening soon at 1719-21 <br /> Massachusetts Avenue. These will be the sub3ect of a formal <br /> hearing on November 7. The consensus at this informal hearing <br /> oppeared to favor something more than the single word "Melinda's" <br /> 4 <br /> for the signs, so that the nature of the business would be <br /> <br />
