HISTORIC DISTRICTS COMMISSION
April 28, 1976
A meeting of the Historic Districts Commission was held at 8:10 P.M.
on Wednesday, April 28, 1976, in Room G-15, of the Town Office Building.
Present were Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Chairman; Georgia H. Williams,
Secretary; Thomas J. Holzbog; S. Lawrence Whipple; and Associate Commis-
sioner Amalia G. Samoylenko who was appointed to fill the vacancy.
Discussion at this meeting concerned the flagpole proposed for the

Battle Green by the Town of Lexington. Mr. Whipple noted that no mention
was made of the thickness of the pipe. Mr. Jaquith suggested that the base
of the flagpole be painted green as white would be dirty shortly after in-
stallation. Mrs. Samoylenko suggested that a site plan be made of the
Common to see where existing monuments are located. Nlr. Jaquith said that
he had some hesitation in specifying exact location of the flagpole as the
Board of Selectmen have jurisdiction over the Common.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 P.M. ~
Georgia H. Williams
Secretary
