Present were
Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Chairman; Georgia H. Williams, Secretary;
Thomas J. Holzbog; S. Lawrence Whipple; and Associate Commissioner Oliver
F. Hooper who was appointed to serve for Commissioner Donald J. Shaw.
An application has been received from The Threaded Needle. Following
discussion, it was agreed that the sign could be hung for April 19th.
At 8:10 P.M. Kim Fillmore presented the new sign for The Toad Stool.
The sign is 2S" x 52", painted on both sides, letters for The Toad Stool
are in black, the toadstool in orange, green toad at base of toadstool
sitting on green grass, and white brackets on side. Mr. Jaquith stated that
the Board of Appeals will probably insist that it be fastened at both top
and bottom. It was moved by Mr. Holzbog, seconded by Mr. Hooper, and VOTED
that the sign be approved after drawings have been submitted with the con-
dition that the Board of Appeals approve sign and brackets. Mr.

McSweeney has presented four proposals for hearing before the Commission
next month. He is unable to get a wood pole so is proposing one of steel,
aluminum, or fiberglas. Discussion followed on the three proposals.
Mr. Jaquith reported that the Lexington Bicentennial Committee has
offered to present to the Town as a permanent memorial to the Bicentennial ICI
a plaque to be on or at the base of the flagpole with the names of the mem-
bers of the Bicentennial Committee on the plaque.
Mr. Jaquith reported that the Appeal in the Forg case has been withdrawn.
It was moved, seconded, and VOTED to issue a Certificate to F.
Gordon and Ethel A.
