HISTORIC DISTRICTS COMMISSION <br /> March 17, 1976 <br /> A meeting of the Historic Districts Commission was held on Wednesday, <br /> March 17, 1976, in the Selectmen's Meeting Room. Present were Commissioners <br /> Wilbur N1. Jaquith, Chairman; Georgia H. Williams, Secretary; Thomas J. <br /> Holzbog; S. Lawrence Whipple; and Associate Commissioner Oliver F. Hooper <br /> who was appointed to serve for Commissioner Donald J. Shaw. <br /> At 8:.00 P.M. an adjourned hearing was held with F. Gordon Sullivan and <br /> his builder who discussed the revised plans for the front porch on the <br /> dwelling at 1351 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the Munroe Tavern <br /> District. The hearing was adjourned at 8:18 P.M. <br /> At 8:20 P.M. Donald Wilson of Wilson Farms, Inc. appeared to discuss <br /> proposed renovations to the dwelling at 626 Massachusetts Avenue, which is <br /> within the East Village District. The changes consist of replacement of a <br /> porch at the southwest corner of the rear of the dwelling with an =.outside <br /> wood stairway and second floor platform, replacement of the central window <br /> on the second floor elevation with a wood door leading to the platform, <br /> replacement of existing wood clapboards with new..woaod__elapboards having <br /> 4 1/2" exposure to the weatherr any replaced trim or cornerboards to be of <br /> the same width as existing, installation of combination aluminum storm <br /> windows, and replacement of exterior lighting fixtures on each side of the <br /> front door by a lantern type fixture to be selected by the applicant. Mr. <br /> Wilson stated that they want to paint with Olympic Brown Stain #707. Fol- <br /> lowing considerable discussion, the hearing was closed at 9:45 P.M. <br /> bir. Jaquith reported that Paul McCormack does not yet have drawings; <br /> the sign for The Toad Stool is being made; Elizabeth Reinhardt said that <br /> the Battle Green is a National Register property so cannot do anything to <br /> the Green; Revolutionary Monument problem not resolved; and nothing new <br /> on the flagpole. Mr. Jaquith said that the Lexington Minute-Men sign on <br /> the Sanderson House has never been improved and that he proposed sending <br /> letter stating that this be done or removed by-April 10th. Mr. Jaquith re- <br /> ported that he has written to John McSweeney regarding disapproval of the <br /> <br /> Rainbow Girl's and Muzzey Junior High proposal for Bicentennial projects at <br /> the Battle Green. <br /> It was VOTED to pay the bill submitted by Barbara Gilson. <br /> It was VOTED to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness to Wilson Farms, <br /> Inc. with respect to changes in the dwelling at 626 Massachusetts Avenue. <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 P.M. <br /> Georgia H.
