Present were <br /> Commisafonera Wilbur M. Jaquith, Chairmant Georgia H. WiLtiams, Searetaryi <br /> Thomas J. Holzbogi S. Lawrence Whipplaf and Associate Commissioner Ruth B. <br /> Adams. Mrs, Adams was appointed to serve for Commissioner Donald J. Shaw <br /> who was unable to bs present. <br /> An adjourned hearing was held at 7s45 P.M. on the application of <br /> Depositor's Treat Company with respect to a change in the exterior archi- <br /> tectural feature of the building at 10 Depot Square, which is within the <br /> Battle Green District. William Asaro represented the applicant and sub- <br /> mitted an imitation slate sample which he said xonld scat $7000.00 more to <br /> install than black asphalt shingles. Following discussion, it waa moved, <br /> seconded, and urminimoualy VOTED to issue a Csrtif'iaate of Appropriateness <br /> to Depositor's Trust Company with respect to a change in the exterior archi- <br /> tectural feature (installation oP Moire Bleak asphalt shingles Bird Windaeal <br /> quality) of the building at 10 Depot Square, which is within the Battle <br /> Green Diatriat. Participating in this decision were Cosenissioriera Wilbttr M. <br /> Jaquith, Georgia H. Williams, Thomas J. Hol$bog, 3. Lawrence Whipple, and <br /> Associate Commissioner Ruth B. Adams. <br /> Following discussion, it was moved, seconded, and unanimously VOTED to <br /> issue a Certificate of Appropriateneaa to Walter H. and Carol G. Bergler as <br /> an amendment to Certificate No. 74 C-52 issued by the Commission on December <br /> 18, 1974 with respect to changes in the existing dwelling at 22 Hanaoak Street, <br /> <br /> which is within the Hancock-Clarke District. Participating in this decision <br /> <br /> were Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Georgia H. Williams, Thomas J. Holzbog, <br /> S. Lawrence Whipple, and Associate Commissioners Ruth B. Adams. <br /> An informal meeting was held at 8:20 P,M. with Attorney David Murphy on <br /> the sign Yor Roane Chevrolet, hearing for which is scheduled for Marsh 26th. <br /> Mr. Murphy said that the proposed sign has been approved by the Hoard of <br /> <br /> Appeals and would be an interior lit sign approximately 6 1/2" x 6 i/2" on a <br /> poet ii' 10 3/8" high. He acid that the sign has the General Motors logo, <br /> the word "Chevrolet", and the xorda "Rowe Chevrolet" at the bottom of the <br /> sign. This sign would replace the existing free standing sign on the pre- <br /> miaes. Mr. Jaquith informed Mr Murphy that the Commission dose not like <br /> interior illuminated signs and also that this particular sign is on the edge <br /> of a residential area. Mr. Murphy said that the Chevrolet Company would like <br /> to have this sign erected but xould not take the franchise away from Rowe <br /> Chevrolet if the sign is not approved. He said that it would be a steel and <br /> plastic sign. Mr. Jaquith said that this is the first standard tape high <br /> sign other than gasoline signs to be submitted to the Commission. The meet- <br /> ing was adjourned. at 9:10 P.M. <br /> An informal meeting was held with Richard Michelson, Chairman of the <br /> Permanent Memorial Committee, of the Lexington Bicentennial Committee. Mr. <br /> <br /> Michelson said that the Selectmen had approved their proposed project a <br /> <br />
