<br /> A meeting of the Historic Districts Commission was held on Wednesday,
<br /> October 9, 197, at 8:00 P,M, in the Selectmen`s Meeting Room, Town Office
<br /> Building, Lexington, Present were Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Chair-
<br /> man; Georgia H. Williams, Secretary; Donald J, Shaw; and Associate Commis-
<br /> sioners Ruth B, Adams, Amalia G, Samoylenko, and Sarah P. Harkness, Mrs,
<br /> Adams was appointed to serve for Commissioner Thomas J, Holzbog who was un-
<br /> able to be present and Mrs, Samoylenko was appointed to serve for Mr, Whipple
<br /> who was unable to be present.
<br /> Mr, Jaquith stated that he had received an extension to November 15th
<br /> from the Lexington Historical Society,
<br /> Mr, Jaquith stated that Phase 1 of the Town`s Annual Report was due on
<br /> November 15th and Mrs. Williams was asked to prepare this report.
<br /> Mr, Jaquith submitted one set of drawings from the Planning Office of
<br /> Urban Affairs, Inc, for the proposed complex at 56-60 Worthen Road, The
<br /> drawings show changes in the doorways to permit recessing the storage door
<br /> entrances.
<br /> A hearing was held at 8e15 P,M, on the application of the Fo11en Church
<br /> Society for a Certificate with respect to a change in color in the Church
<br /> building at 755 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the East Village Dis-
<br /> trict, Mr, Jaquith read the letter requesting a change in color of the main i
<br /> front entrance doors to a black color in place of the existing gray color,
<br /> The hearing was closed at 8:20 P,M,
<br /> It was moved, seconded, and unanimously VOTED to issue a Certificate of
<br /> Appropriateness to the Follen Church Society fora Certificate of Appropriate-
<br /> ness with respect to a change in color in the Church building at 755 Massa-
<br /> chusetts Avenue, which is within the East Village District, Participating
<br /> in this decision were Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Georgia H. Williams,
<br /> Donald J. Shaw, and Associate Commissioners Ruth B, Adams and Amalia G,
<br /> Samoylenko.
<br /> Mr, Jaquith then submitted plans for alterations to the dwelling at 22
<br /> Hancock Street and stated that they are doing a lot of renovating inside and
<br /> want to relocate a door and change several windows, A hearing on this appli-
<br /> cation is scheduled for October 30th,
<br /> Mr, Jaquith then appointed Mrs, Harkness to serve for him on the next
<br /> hearing, Mrs, Samoylenko moved, seconded by Mrs. Adams, and so VOTED that
<br /> Mr, Shaw serve as Chairman Pro Tem, An adjourned hearing was held at 8:30 PM
<br /> on the application of F. William Smith for a Certificate with respect to
<br /> changes in color in condominium dwelling units nos, 1 through 4 being erected
<br /> under Certificate of Appropriateness No, 74 C-10 issued April i7, I97k on the
<br /> premises at 1505 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the Munroe Tavern Dis-
<br /> trict, Samples of the colors were submitted, The hearing was adjourned at
<br /> 8:45 P,M,
