Present aas Commissioner Wilbur M. Jaquith, Chairman. A hearing tree held at,8;00 P.M. on the application of Laurence J. and Cecilia R. Kipp for a Certificate with respect to changes in the premises at 531 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the East Village District. The chairman read the legal notice and stated that this had been published fol- lawing receipt of an application from Mr. Kipp, reading oY which aonld be deferred, The Chairman stated that due to a lack of a quorum the hearing is adjourned to 5;00 P. M. on Thursday, April 25, 197i?, C, Harry Erickson, architect for Norton, Rleven and Co., Inc. submitted. a scale drawing and photographs on behalf of his client for changes in the building at 3 Fletcher Avenue. Mr, Erickson stated that the applicant de- sired to replace the wood door and sidelights with an anodized bronze door and sidelights, to repaint the black railings, to install a lighting fixture on each side of the doorway entrance and submitted an illustration showing four styles of fixtures from xhieh the applicant would select one, and to put #3 Fletcher Avsmie aver the doorway entrance in plats of the existing legend. Mr. Erickson said that the metal letters would be 4" in height and would be painted black and, in so far as possible, they would nser~~.he leiSters already in that location. Mr, Erickson said that a directory sign approxi- mately 2'6" x i'9" would be installed on the building front to designate the name of the main occupant and the tenant in the basement, He said that this would be a wood or maaonite panel in a aood frame painted a bronze Dolor to match the door and that the backboard scold be painted white, Tha letters would be 2" capital letters .and 1 1/2" lower case letters. Mr, Erickson said that the trim of the building aovld be painted white. A hearing was held at 8:35 P. M. on the application of Norton, Kleven and Co., Inc. for a Certificate with respect to changes in the building and the erection and display of a directory sign on the building at 3 Fletcher Avenue, which is within the Battle Green District. Mr, Jaquith read the legal notice and stated that he would defer reading of the application. The Chairman said that this hearing is adjourned to 8e30 P.M. on Thursday, April 25, 19~r dns to a lack of a quorum, P4~ederick Pohl of Calp, Inc, submitted three scale draainga of the re- vised sign for Cheryl's ~kery, He said that the total apace between the outside edges of the pillars is 16'8" and that they would pull the sign in 1" at each end of the pilasters, He said that the sign scold be fastened by six angle clips at the top and bottom, one in the center and one 1" in Prom each end at the top and bottom, and that these world be fastened tight.
