HISTORIC DISTRICTS COMI~SSION <br /> A meeting of the Historic Districts Commission was held on 'Wednesday, <br /> June 28, 1972, in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, Town Office Building, Lex- <br /> ington. Present were Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Chairman; Philip B. <br /> Parsons, Secretary; George E. Graves; Donald J. Shaw; Georgia H. Williams; <br /> and Associate Commissioner_S. Lawrence Whipple. <br /> A hearing was held at 7155 P.M. on the application of Roger V. A. and <br /> Mary Helen Zorn for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the erection of a <br /> porch attached to the dwelling at lO Tavern Lane, which is within the Munroe <br /> Tavern District. Mr. Jaquith read the legal notice and application. Mr. <br /> Zorn submitted three scale drawings of the Plot Plan and a set of three <br /> scale drawings (SK156, SK157, and SK158) showing details of the proposed <br /> porch. Mr. Zorn stated that the benches surrounding the three open sides of <br /> the porch would be approximately 17" high and that the porch would be fin- <br /> ished in the .same color beige as the dwelling. It was stated that foliage <br /> hides the dwelling from Massachusetts Avenue and the Munroe Tavern. The <br /> hearing was closed at 8115 P.M. <br /> A hearing was held at 8115 P.M. on the application of George E., Jr. <br /> and Patricia M. Rowe for the erection of a storage building at 1460 Massa <br /> chusetts Avenue, which is within the Munroe Tavern District. Mr. Jaquith <br /> read the legal notice and the application. Attorney Frederick J. Conroy <br /> represented the applicant and submitted three scale Plot Plan drawings, <br /> three copies of the illustration of the proposed storage building and one <br /> specification sheet. He stated that there is no garage on the premises and <br /> that the applicant proposes to erect a 10' x 10' Walpole House with the <br /> front facing the driveway. There would be a door and one window on thefront <br /> and one window in the rear. The building would be stained with Walpole #4 <br /> Rustic Brown stain and the door, window sash and shutters would be painted <br /> <br /> white and that the roof shingles would be as specified by the Commission. <br /> The hearing was closed at 8:40 P.M. <br /> It was moved, seconded, and unanimously V07~D to issue a Certificate <br /> of Appropriateness to Roger Y. A. and Mary Helen Zorn for the erection of <br /> a porch attached to the dwelling at 10 Tavern Lane, which is within the <br /> Munroe Tavern District. Participating in this decision were Commissioners <br /> <br /> Wilbur M. Jaquith, Philip B. Parsons, George E. Graves, Donald J. Shaw, and <br /> Georgia H. Williams. <br /> It was moved, seconded, and unanimously VOZED to issue a Certificate <br /> of Appropriateness to George E., Jr. and Patricia M. Rowe for the erection <br /> of a storage building on the premises at 1460 Massachusetts Avenue, which <br /> is within the Munroe Tavern District. Participating in this decision were <br /> Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Philip B. Parsons, George E. Graves, Donald <br /> J. Shaw, and Georgia H. Williams. <br /> Mr. Jaquith then asked about vacations for the summer months and the <br /> replies were as followsi Mr. Jaquith, first and last weeks of August; Mr, <br /> Parsons, does not know; Mr. Graves, would be available all summer; Mr. Shaw, <br /> one week in the summer and balance in the fall; Mrs. Williams! July 13 to <br /> <br /> August 6; Mr. Whipple, no definite plans; it was stated that Mr. Pitt plans <br /> to take two weeks in August; and F7iss Gilson, the Clerk, said that she ex- <br /> pected to take the first two weeks in October. <br /> <br />
