HISTORIC DISTRICTS COMt+ILSSION <br /> A meeting of the Historic Districts Commission was held on Wednesday, <br /> May 24, 1972, in Room Gis, Town Office Building, Lexington at 8100 P.M. <br /> Fresent were Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Chairman; Philip B. Parsons, <br /> Secretary; George E. Graves; Donald J. Shaw; and Georgia H. Williams. <br /> Mr. Jaquith stated that he had received a letter of resignation as an <br /> <br /> Associate Commissioner from Duncan Macdonald and that he would turn this <br /> letter over to the Board of Selectmen so that they ,could take action on it. <br /> An adjourned hearing was held at 8s05 P.M. with Keith W. and Marilyn <br /> M. Harrison with respect to the .erection and display of a hanging sign for <br /> the store at 72 Waltham Street, which is within the Battle Green District, <br /> as submitted to the Commission at the hearing on April 6, 1972. Mr. Harrison <br /> stated that they had met with the Board of Appeals who approved the hanging <br /> sign but required that the sign be reduced by 6" in height and 5" in width. <br /> Three scale drawings without lettering were submitted and it was stated that <br /> the letters would be a Country Store Red with a white plywood backboard with <br /> molding around the edges. Mr. Harrison also said that the Planning Board <br /> had suggested .green letters but that the Board of Appeals had referred the <br /> color of the sign to the Historic Districts Commission. The hearing was ad- <br /> journed at 8127 P.M. <br /> It was moved, seconded, and unanimously VOTED to issue a Certificate of <br /> <br /> Appropriateness to Keith W. and Marilyn M. Harrison with respect to the erec- <br /> tion and display of a hanging sign for the store at 72 Waltham Street, which <br /> is within the Battle Green District. Participating in this decision were <br /> Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Philip B. Parsons, George E. Graves, Donald <br /> J. Shaw, and Georgia H. Williams. <br /> Following discussion, it was moved, seconded, and unanimously VOTED to <br /> issue a Certificate of Appropriateness amending Certificate No. 72 C-3 issued <br /> to Amelia G. Samolyenko et als, Trustees of The Lexington Mews. Trust on March <br /> il, 1972 for the erection of a building complex with basement at SO-12 Muzzey <br /> Street, which is within the Battle Green District. Participating in this <br /> decision were Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Philip B. Parsons, George E. <br /> Graves, Donald J. Shaw, and Georgia H.
