Present were <br /> Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Chairman; Philip B. .Parsons, Secretary= Max <br /> H. Straw; George E, Graves; Georgia H. Williams; and Associate Commissioners <br /> George W. Emery; Franklin C. Hudson; and. S. Lawrence Whipple. <br /> A hearing was held at 7145 P.M. on the application of Colonial Pharmacy <br /> for a Certificate of Appropriateness ?ritli respect to the erection and dis• <br /> play of a sign for the store at 1754 Massachusetts Avenue, whiah is within. <br /> the Battle Green District. Mr. Jaquith read the legal notice and the letter <br /> requesting this hearing.Present for the petitioner were Robert T. Callahan <br /> and Frederick J. Pohl of Calpo, Inc. who submitted three aaale drawings and <br /> Dolor samples of the proposed sign and photographs of the. store front. Fol- <br /> lowing discussion, the hearing was ad3ourned at 8x20 P.M. with deoision re- <br /> garding sign to be held pending Board of Appeals hearing. <br /> A hearing was held at 8120 P.M. on the application of Anthony d & Marie <br /> Bartolotti and Joseph & Ersilia Bartolotti with respect to an addition to <br /> the dwelling at 1132 Massachusetts Avenue, whioh 1s xithin the Eaat Village <br /> District. Present for the petitioner were Anthorr;p Bartolotti; Richard Ol.son, <br /> <br /> Engineer; and Joseph Bartolotti. Also present were Anita L. Andelman of <br /> 1130 Massachusetts Avenue and Elisabeth R. Mooney of 1145 Massachusetts Ave- <br /> nee, abettors. Three sets of scale drawings of the originally planned addi- <br /> tion and photographs of the dwelling as at present were submitted. Mrs. <br /> <br /> Andelman asked several questions. Mrs. Mooney stated that .she had rw ob- <br /> sections. A letter from Charles D, & Nancy C. Sahock of 8 Marrett Road, <br /> abettors, was read which stated that they were in favor of the improvements. <br /> The engixieer. was requested to submit a plot plan. 'T'he hoaxing was ad3ourned <br /> at 9125 P.M. <br /> Several items xere then disoussed. It waa decided that letters should <br /> be xritten to Buss's Lexington Flower Shop and Grimes Travel suggesting they <br /> apply for Certificates for th®ir signs which are illegal; a~ that Czar <br /> Nicholas and The Toad, Inc. should be requested to appear and explain xhy <br /> the large xindow does not conform with the Certificate as issued. It xas <br /> also decided that Harvard Trust Company should. apply fora CertiYioate for <br /> a temporary sign at their construction sige at 176 11765 Massaohusetts Avenue. <br /> brill for $29.95 for emrelopes from Hancock Press was submitted. It <br /> <br /> was moved, aeoonded, and unanimously V01ED to approve payment of this bill. <br /> Following discussion on the application of Philip John and Julie Ladle <br /> for fencing for the property at 1$ Mariam Street, it was decided that <br /> <br /> M~. Jaquith and Mr. Strax xould meet with and discuss this fencing xith <br /> Mr. Ladle and see if an afire®ment agreeable to all could be reached. <br /> The meeting was ad3ourned at <br /> 11..~ . <br /> Philip B.
